Understanding Sciatica:
Sciatica occurs when the sciatic nerve, which branches from your lower back through your buttocks and leg, becomes pinched or inflamed. This can cause a variety of symptoms, including:
- Pain: Sharp, burning, or radiating pain that starts in the lower back and buttocks and travels down one leg.
- Numbness: Tingling or loss of sensation in the affected leg or foot.
- Weakness: Difficulty moving the affected leg due to weakness or muscle fatigue.
- Painful sensations: Burning, pins and needles, or a constant ache along the sciatic nerve pathway.
